Practice • Acted as trial and appellate counsel in numerous reported commercial cases including contractual disputes, corporate reorganizations, shareholder disputes and oppression remedy cases. • Specializes in securities litigation, including civil actions as well as the conduct and defence of regulatory matters before the Ontario Securities Commission, the Mutual Funds Dealers Association of Canada, the Investment Industry Regulating Organization of Canada and other industry regulators. • Acted as co-counsel for a citizens group in The Cornwall Public Inquiry.
Selected Publications/Presentations • Helen has taught at Osgoode Hall, The Advocates’ Society, and the Law Society of Upper Canada. • Lecturer in Advanced Civil Procedure at Queen’s University Faculty of Law. • Written and spoken on the reform of securities governance in Canada, commercial and securities fraud, cross border enforcement activities in the securities field and enforcement of Anton Pillar orders. • Member of the Securities Industry Association. • Former member of the Securities Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission. • Former member of Governing Council of the Ontario Bar Association.
