Jean Polak is an experienced litigator who began her legal career at what was then Tory Tory DesLauriers & Binnington in Toronto. Called to the bar in 1989, she took a leave of absence to spend a year in England as a Fox Scholar, working with barristers of the Middle Temple, London. 

She returned to Torys as an associate and continued her busy practice as a civil litigator. In 1993, Jean chose to relocate to Muskoka. This move enabled her to enjoy life in a smaller centre and to become more involved in the community, while still pursuing her legal career.

Since coming to Muskoka, she has added criminal litigation and wills and estates to her practice, as outlined in her website at www.polaklaw.com. In Muskoka, she worked as an associate with Lee, Roche & Kelly for several years, before opening her own practice in September 2000. 

Jean received her B.A. (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario in 1984 and her LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1987. She was called to the Ontario bar in 1989.

Jean serves in many volunteer positions in the community as well as being active in sports and community theatre.
