Areas of Practice
Counsel to the Correctional Investigator of Canada in the Arbour Commission of Inquiry into the Prison for Women in 1995-96.
Counsel in the Parker Commission of Inquiry into allegations of conflict of interest in respect of Sinclair Stevens in 1986.
Counsel to the Prime Minister and the Government of Canada in cases involving powers of government, constitutional law, access to information and Charter of Rights.
Counsel in class actions, including as counsel for Ford dealers across Canada in an action which resulted in a successful $50 million settlement from Ford of Canada.
Counsel to aboriginal groups and government authorities in cases involving land claims, improper surrender, breach of treaties and breach of s.35 of the Constitution Act, 1982.
Appears as defence counsel in criminal cases, and has appeared before all levels of Courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, in constitutional law, aboriginal law, and Charter of Rights cases.
