Sylvia Corthorn has over 20 years of legal experience in civil litigation, including medical negligence, personal injury, insurance defence (including coverage cases), and estate litigation.  Sylvia joined Kelly Santini as a partner in 1994, and has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario. Her experience includes appearances before administrative tribunals, including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Sylvia is a member of the Advocates’ Society. She has instructed on Civil Procedure at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission Course in Ottawa and is a presenter at continuing education programs for the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society, and the County of Carleton Law Association.  For several years she taught Civil Procedure to second and third year students at the University of Ottawa Law School.

Sylvia contributes to a number of community initiatives and is a member of the Kelly Santini LLP organizing committee for the Sports Celebrities Festival Breakfast in support of the Ottawa Special Olympics.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Valley Head Injury Association, and served for 12 years on the Board of Directors for the Roberts/Smart Centre, both as a member of the executive and as President of the Board.  She also served as Legal Division Campaign Chairperson for the United Way for two years.
