TAS Mentoring Portal - Mentee Registration

The Advocates' Society's online mentoring program is available exclusively for TAS members. The program is hosted on Mentoring Rocket and features a gallery of TAS mentors who are available for micro-mentoring sessions.

Registration for eligible TAS Members* is now open!

We know isolation has become a significant issue for junior counsel since 2020, so a key goal of this new mentoring program is to create a simple way for our Junior Members to feel more connected to their professional community and obtain some career advice from more experienced members of the bar. This program model is convenient, efficient and effective:

  • No long-term commitments.
  • No extensive questionnaires or matching.
  • No heavy agendas, minute taking or long-term planning.
Just simple connection and conversation for junior lawyers to get some tips and connect with someone new. And if there is a fit? Great! Mentors and mentees can choose to meet again. But that is up to you.

We have mentors ready on the portal and getting set up as a mentee is easy!

Are you a TAS Junior Member (called to the bar less than 5 years)? If yes, you will be pre-loaded into the Mentorship Rocket site using the email we have on your membership profile, and you can go directly there to access the program. 

For all other TAS members (5 or more years of call):

Register here and TAS staff will set you up in the Mentorship Rocket and send you log on instructions by email within a few days. 

The program allows up to 12 mentoring sessions for the duration of the program, offering mentees the opportunity to connect with a variety of experienced counsel. Mentoring sessions are intended to be an informal way for mentees to seek advice on topics important to them. Although sessions cannot be booked for more than one hour, mentees are encouraged to book sessions even if they expect they will need less than an hour for a mentoring session.

Interested in being a mentor? TAS members can opt in to be a mentor on their online member profile and TAS staff will get you set up on the platform.

*This program is currently available to Junior and Regular TAS members in good standing. Preference will be given to Junior Members who are less than 5 years called to the bar. Student members will be placed on a waiting list, if spaces open up. The portal offers a toggle to access the site in French language.
