On November 24, The Advocates' Society and the Ontario Bar Association are co-hosting a free program to update you on what’s coming next in the overhaul of the Ontario
Rules of Civil Procedure. Don’t miss this opportunity to get a free preview of how the
Rules reform will impact your practice.
In 2023, the Chief Justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Attorney General of Ontario announced a complete review of the
Rules of Civil Procedure to increase access to justice and reduce the complexity, costs, and delays in the civil justice system. The Civil Rules Review Working Group, led by Justice Cary Boswell and lawyer Allison Speigel, was established to carry out this comprehensive review.
In April 2025, the Working Group released its preliminary reform proposal for consultation with stakeholders. The Working Group has now carefully considered the stakeholder feedback provided and revised its proposed reforms in response.
TAS and the OBA invite you to a virtual session with Justice Boswell and Ms. Speigel to hear about the revised proposals to overhaul the
Rules of Civil Procedure. The program will also feature a Q&A session to answer the audience’s questions.
Registration includes program materials, which will be provided prior to the program.
